What I am currently doing? I am currently the site manager for a wind farm through Siemens Gamesa.

What was the biggest challenge/obstacle about your role currently? What is the most rewarding? The biggest challenge in my role currently is finding and hiring new techs willing to learn this trade. Getting new employees to understand the benefits of being with a great company like SGER. Being with/at a site like Lower Snake River that has a track record of being one of the best sites in the entire SGRE fleet. Year in and year out, LSR is in the top 5 of all sites in SGRE in all categories. This leads in to be on of the most rewarding aspects of the job.

Do you have any advice for an upcoming graduate? There’s a lot more to this job than just making money. Don’t get caught up in chasing money. Look at the big picture and understand what a company and site have to offer that will enrich your entire life. Remember 10 good rules to live by and what to look for in people. 10 things that require zero talent: Being on time, work ethic, effort, body language, energy, attitude, passion, being coachable, doing extra, being prepared.
