Across the country, the COVID-19 virus is causing severe disruptions. Gov. Jay Inslee directed all Washington state public schools to close to help our state and nation combat the spread of the COVID-19. As such, we will move to online classes starting on Wednesday, March 18.
We are not canceling any training, and our student housing will continue to welcome students. We anticipate that we will need to teach online for about six weeks.
If you are a current student, you will receive instructions on how to transition to online learning. You can expect these instructions in an email from your instructor sometime on Monday or Tuesday (March 16 or 17).
Students Starting Training on March 16
Classes starting on Monday, March 16, will be taught online as well. If you are a student arriving for New Student Orientation on Monday, March 16, please plan to attend orientation as scheduled.
If you decide to begin your training remotely and not travel to Vancouver at this time, please let us know so we can proceed accordingly and get your training started. Please email us at email@example.com with any change of plans or questions.
Is Online Learning as Good as On-campus learning?
Students who receive training delivered online will receive the same high quality education as they would if they were on campus. The online portion of the curriculum is limited to the theory and knowledge work that does not require lab work.
When student return to campus, at this point we expect to resume on-campus training around April 26, instructors will provide a review period then conduct lab and practical exercises.
Students will also have access to students services such as tutoring and career services support during this period of online learning.
