Job Title: Traveling Wind Turbine Technician
What is your favorite memory from attending our school?
All of the great memories I have with my classmates. I can't choose just one.
What are you looking forward to the most about your job?
I was really looking forward to and already love traveling and my paychecks.
What advice would you give a student who is getting ready to start their career training at our school?
Although the skills and concepts learned in class are very transferable to the real world, once you start working, you'll still have a lot left to learn when you are working in the field. Pay close attention to details and processes in the daily routine. Lead techs will want to tell/show you something no more than once and expect you to follow it. Always stay on your toes.
Is there anything else you would like to add about your career or training?
We're taught a very high standard of safety in class. Techs in the field sometimes won't follow safety as closely as we are taught, so it can be easy to pick up bad habits. Always practice safety to the level you're taught in class, even if all of your future coworkers don't.
