Hydraulics

Hydraulics I

Students will be introduced to and study the fundamentals of hydraulic systems that are used in the wind turbine industry. Using industrial quality components, students will learn to operate, install, analyze performance, and examine the design of basic hydraulic systems. Course study will also cover hydraulic power systems, basic hydraulic circuits, principles of hydraulic pressure and flow, hydraulic speed control, and pressure control circuits.

Hydraulics II

Building upon the fundamentals, this intermediate level hydraulic course will examine the specialized applications for hydraulic systems used by wind turbine technicians. In this comprehensive course students will use industrial quality components to learn to operate, install, analyze, and examine the design of intermediate hydraulic systems.

"The Northwest Renewable Energy Institute (NWREI) and its Director, Tracy Rascoe, are providing a top-notch, truly professional wind technician education program that Suzlon has and will continue to benefit from. In a fairly short amount of time, the students look,
think, act and have the skill sets of a quality wind tech."

- Willem van der Ven, Regional Service Manager, Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation

“I’m a recent graduate from NW-REI. Shortly after graduation I was hired by GE for Installation & Receiving. During my time at GE's training facility I truly realized and greatly appreciate how much I had really learned at NW-REI to prepare me and provide me the opportunity to be ahead of the curve.”
